It has capability regarding checking capacity,material shortages which helps daily planning and avoid many issues. Now it is helping in local scheduling. This has been a concern area for scheduling team.

The CBST provides a Centralized planning tool, validating capacity and generating requirement of common parts. It has also helped in preventing multiple interpretation of Shift loading, as the production rate is standardized and based on IE assessment. There use to be lot of spread sheets prepared by each of our planner to Analyze cell Capacity, Material Coverage, Shortage Qty., Checking probable day of stock out of raw material. We use to input lot of data for these spread sheets by extracting various reports from oracle or some other databases. Even then, there use to be lot of confusions & un expected shortages of various raw materials and sub assemblies for production & hence line down time. This CBST tool made planner's job easy, there's no need to download any reports from oracle. Clarity on Line capacity. The local material scheduling is a very crucial activity at APC-MGE, involving many constraints and problems of various magnitudes with multiple dimensions. With the wide variety of Call off’s involved i.e. By weekly, daily, each shift and hourly, the constraints are enormous.
